One-on-one with John Holiday

The following is an interview between Marquita Griffin, a Fort Bend Herald reporter, and John Holiday, a Rosenberg native and 2003 Lamar Consolidated High School graduate who recently performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Fort Bend Herald: Why did you choose the opera field? And is this the field you’ll remain in?

John Holiday: I don’t know really. I almost feel like it chose me. I love this so much. I remember being in the Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas and being in the children’s chorus for Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and thinking to myself that I’d like to be one of those soloists up front one day. I’m a singer at heart and I’ll hopefully be singing or humming up until my last breath. I love to sing jazz and gospel too.
